The FAN Bio: Mark Viviano



Sportscaster Mark Viviano joins Baltimore's Sports Radio 105.7 The Fan with The Bulldog every Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm.

Mark can be seen every day on WJZ 13 - Baltimore's News Station as sports director.
Voted Best Radio Sports Talk Show in the most recent Best of Baltimore Magazine and raved about by Baltimore's City Paper as Baltimore's Best Sports Talk Radio Host. Most recently, Viviano was studio anchor and national correspondent for CNN-Sports Illustrated, a position he assumed after leaving the Baltimore NBC affiliate television station WBAL-TV in December of 1999.

Viviano originally came to Baltimore from the Midwest where he worked for WDTN-TV in Dayton, OH as weekend sports anchor. He also served in a similar capacity at WCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Career highlights include earning national recognition as the reporter who broke the story of the Cleveland Brown relocation to Baltimore in November of 1995.He also was selected to carry the Olympic torch through Baltimore en route to its final destination at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Viviano, a personal fan of baseball, still plays on an amateur level and will rejoin the Brewers of the Baltimore Baseball League (over 18, open division). Additionally, he is a marathonist, having completed 16 marathons including the 2002 Boston Marathon.

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Viviano is a native of St. Louis, MO.
